If you're in Siena and craving spicy flavors, Shangai Restaurant is a good-visit. The setup is simple and unpretentious, but the food makes up for it. The hardworking staff ensures make yoj want to support this place . For just 34 Euros, three of us ate well—a testament to the excellent value here. Dishes like the **chili tofu**, **eggplant**, and **noodles** are packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. There are also plenty of vegan options, making it a versatile choice for different dietary preferences. A heads-up: the staff primarily speaks Italian, so having a translator app ready can be handy. Despite the language barrier, the warm hospitality and delicious food make Shangai Restaurant a great vegan choice. I would rate it four stars for its authentic flavors, excellent value, and hardworking staff.

We came late at night looking for some comfort Chinese food after a week of traveling in Italy. We had our Chinese food cravings satisfied and also ended up having a great conversation with the restaurant owner. Turns out she’s been operating this restaurant for over 30 years! Had a great experience, highly recommend if you’re in Siena and looking for some Chinese food.

Good twist from Italian food (almost daily), was told that this is one of the oldest Chinese restaurant in Siena and still standing strong. Can be pretty crowded at point during dinner. We had a typical “tour group” kind of Chinese dinner. Taste is fair, perhaps even just a simple fried rice will be a bliss!

Extremely affordable Chinese restaurant located in the heart of the old town. Menu choices are abundant, and taste is decent, given the price. Interior decoration is claasical Chinese style, very old fashioned. Service could be slow during peak dinning hour.

For a Chinese food fix while overseas, this place does the trick. Don't expect the best Chinese food you've ever had, but it's a very serviceable option. We tried several dishes, from yang zhou fried rice to mapo tofu and sweet and sour pork. They were all good and familiar, making them a comforting choice, even if they weren't great.

Hot and sour soup is awesome... So fresh and you can tell the difference of it being lighter without all of the preservatives. The tofu, crab, and the steamed vegetable dumplings were our favorite. Great service, very reasonable prices and also you can get a liter of white wine with dinner for 7.90euro. Definitely recommend if you want to try something different while in Sienna!
